Project Engineer – Building Envelope New Construction and Rehabilitation Projects

CSG is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer with experience in building envelope consulting, including roofing systems, waterproofing, and building facades. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex restoration and renovation projects while developing expertise in forensic investigations, construction consulting, and building envelope engineering. The ideal candidate will participate in a dynamic mix of field investigations, engineering analysis, and construction observation, supporting projects from initial assessment through construction completion. As a key member of the team, you will serve as the primary liaison between CSG’s engineering staff, contractors, and clients, ensuring that structural and building envelope solutions are implemented accurately, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities

Perform building envelope investigations and recommend roofing and waterproofing repairs
Review roofing and waterproofing details, drawings, and specifications
Evaluate contractor submittals and RFIs and provide technical feedback
Conduct field inspections and construction observations to verify quality and compliance
Collect field data and prepare technical reports and documentation
Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and project teams
Interpret architectural drawings, plans, and specifications
Assist with project budgeting, cost estimates, and financial tracking
Provide responsive, high-quality client service and communication

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or Architecture
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)
3+ years of experience in building envelope consulting, roofing, or waterproofing systems
Strong knowledge of building materials, roofing systems, and waterproofing performance
Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
Experience with technical writing, reports, and specifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Comfortable working both independently and within a team environment
Willingness to perform fieldwork on construction sites and travel as needed
